| John wins Big Brother Celebrity Hijack |
|

John has won Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack with Emilia finishing as the runner up.
The two remaining housemates were sat on the sofa holding hands when Dermot O'Leary told them their fate.
"What?" shrieked John, in a state of disbelief.
"You've won John!" replied Emilia.
Once the result had sunk in, he ecstatically hugged the acrobat and was congratulated by O'Leary.
"You deserve it so much more than me!" admitted second-placed Emilia, who left the house joking that she was "going to faint". She was also shocked by the amount of booing coming from the crowd outside.
Inside the house, John hugged O'Leary who told him that he was a deserving winner. The newly crowned Big Brother winner managed to successfully negotiate the stairs, after joking he would trip up on them, and was greeted by fireworks and rapturous cheers from the crowd.
At the time the lines closed, John had 53.9% of the vote while Emilia received 46.1%.
Highlights of winner John's interview with Dermot:
Whether he thought he could win: "No. With the pass I thought well I'm just John from north Edinburgh, really."
On the first night task: "It was cringeworthy. I could feel myself melting away as a person, I had to massage a boxer and I told a songwriter I wrote The Sound of Music!"
Was the free pass a godsend or poisoned chalice? "Don't get me wrong, I was more than grateful but at the same time no one else had the opportunity to earn that and I was very conscious of that."
Do you think the housemates resented you for it? "There were some individuals who recognised that I had a free pass more than others and there were comments passed that I was a favourite and I was a mole."
On how the 'mole' accusations made him feel: "I took it on the chin, the whole thing is meant to be a head screw but at the same time I thought people would see me, rather than as a part of the game."
Why he described himself as "furniture" in the house: "As much as I love the group, sometimes I had to shout over five or six people to get a voice."
On whether his rows with Anthony were real: "We did once and i think it was about two and a half hours long."
On whether he found the experience inspiring: "Definitely. I think I've grown much more as a person. I realised how much I respect and need my family, actually. When I get out of here I need to strike a much better work-life balance."
Finally, asked what he was hoping to achieve, he replied: "I think the achievement was just getting here. That's what I'll be most proud of, walking through the doors in the first place." |
